A blog for the sci-fi novel series, Out of Orbit. This blog is run by the author, Chele Cooke.
With tube strikes still going strong we’ve made sure to keep the books coming strong. Find Chele Cooke’s Dead and Buryd at Whitechapel.
Look Ma, I’m on the tube! It’s all fast and crowded. Someone hold me!
Sci-Festival is an event that will be running throughout January. This will be a conglomeration of author interviews, all answering the same ten questions, all in the Sci-Fi and Fantasy genres!

Okay guys, I promise I won’t make a habit out of this.
So this girl, Chele Cooke. I’ve known her for about 12-ish years now. She is my oldest and best internet friend in the world. She’s a lovely English woman with a very posh accent and I love listening to her talk…
Okay, I’m getting off track. So for as long as I’ve known her, she’s always wanted to be a writer. Its kind of how we met. Way back when on a little Harry Potter RPG board (yes, I’m a role player!) She was always writing fan fics and short stories of some kind. Later, she went on to college for writing. Can I just say how amazing she is? Because she is!
That brings me to the point of this post. You see that book in the picture? Yeah, she wrote it! It just came out October 5th and I had the honor and pleasure of reading it months ago. And its wonderful! Its a lovely Sci-Fi kind of book. If you’re not into that type of book, you’ll love it anyway! She worked very hard with help from the folk s at Kobo to get her book shelf published. Words cannot describe how proud I am of her! I’m getting to see my friend’s dream come true!
Here’s the book’s description:
A single life could liberate an entire race, but the life required may be hers. Since the invasion of her home planet by the ruthless Adveni, Georgianna Lennox’s life as a Veniche medic isn’t as simple as it used to be. When a single infraction against the Adveni can lead to incarceration, slavery, or death, each life saved can bring harsh consequences. A secret delivery into the infamous Lyndbury Prison Compound reveals that her friend Nyah has been sold into slavery, and Georgianna must decide how to weigh a single life against the risk to herself and others. Caught between her duty as a medic, her family, and her promise to a friend, she puts her trust in a group of rebels, the Belsa. However, when the attempt to free Nyah uncovers a plan that could rid the Veniche of the Adveni for good, Georgianna struggles with the realisation that the people she trusted may have been using her for their own gain. Unable to walk away, Georgianna finds herself pulled deep into a web of lies and cruelty that will either claim Nyah’s life… or her own.
My good friend Jenn, I love her lots!
